Royalty free music is music which is mainly downloaded from
the internet for use within videos and projects of all shapes and sizes. The
term royalty free refers to a type of licensing agreement which allows the
person who buys a piece of music to use said piece of music as much as they
like and for as many different projects as they like while only making one
fixed payment if this is required. Music which does have royalties attached to it comes at a fee each time the
piece of music is used for an advertisement or whatever the piece has been
intended for, this means that each time the music is played, the cost of the
royalties is sent to the creator. However, royalty free music has a one time
payment when you first purchase the track and no additional costs for each time
the music is used meaning the person who wishes to buy the track does not have
to pay additional fees each time they wish to use the piece of music. A lot of
people believe that royalty free music is free, however, this is not necessarily
the case. Some of the creators of the royalty free music may make their work
available for download for free as they just want to get their music out there
and known however some other creators charge a small fee for downloading the
track initially simply because it is a product they have created and do not
want to give it away for nothing if they have put a lot of hard work and effort
into it. A lot of the time though, the price of the of the track is not too
pricey and they are often affordable for a lot of people. This is because royalty free means free of
royalty, not free of cost meaning the creator of the track is entitled to
charge as much or as little as they wish for the music which they create. There
are various websites which are great for finding royalty free music in order to
use in projects such as this, a couple of websites which I found particularly
useful were Bensound.com and purple-planet.com. Both of these websites are free
to download music from and offer a wide range of royalty free music. Below I
have shown some of the tracks which I liked, these tracks are nice calm and
gentle tracks which I thought would be perfect to tie into my theme of a cup of
tea as this is quite a gentle subject.
